What is Pressure Gauge?
It is an instrument which shows the pressure of the fluid. The pressure gauge is the instrument to measure the condition of a fluid (liquid or gas) specified in the form of force exerted by the fluid that the fluid would exert while at rest on the unit area such as pounds per square inch or newtons per square cm.
Gage pressure is mostly used for measuring pneumatic pressure. It is the relative pressure of the compressed air within a system whether it can be positive or negative. It depends upon whether the level is above or below the atmospheric pressure. It is classified into ‘absolute’, ‘gauge’ or ‘differential’ pressure. The pressure gauge is a hydrostatic one or a mechanical one.
